Small change to how you log in

Posted by Matt

Over the weekend we'll be rolling out a small change to how you log in to the dashboard of your City Gates website. The URL - that's the address at the top of your browser window - will be changing from mychurch.org/admin to dashboard.citygates.org. This paves the way for enhanced security features that we're excited to roll out next year.

What do I need to do?

Nothing, if you log in by visiting your homepage and clicking "log in." We'll update that "Log In" link to point to the new URL where you'll see a new login interface. Use your same login and password, and we'll send you directly to your Dashboard.

I've got bookmarks!

If you use a bookmark to login, we'll be trying to redirect those links automatically. You'll want to update your bookmark, though.

What does this mean for our website?

Your website will remain exactly the same for all the day-to-day visitors to your website. This change only affects Administrators and Editors and how they access the dashboard area.

What kind of changes are coming?

The most exciting one is that we'll be able to offer SSL encryption for some areas of the dashboard! The move will also allow our servers to serve up pages from your website faster by doing a little server-side caching.

Help!

If anything comes up or you need help, just holler. You can enter something on our help system, Get Satisfaction.

When?

We'll be rolling out the change this weekend; we'll be updating the City Gates Status twitter feed with updates.

Thanks

Thanks again for letting City Gates serve your church or ministry. Not only are you smart and good looking people, you're also doing amazing work for the Kingdom. Keep it up!
